BARCELONA

Barcelona is located in Spain and is the capital of the autonomous Catalan region. According to Euromonitor International, Barcelona was in 2006 the fourth most visited city in regards to international tourists. In five years, the number of visitors has doubled. As the flights have gotten cheaper, the number of tourists has increased. The city's main tourist attraction is the incomplete Sagrada Falmilia Basilica, but it has also got many other attractions on offer, apart from swimming, nightlife and shopping. During the 21st century, the weekend tourism has significantly increased as Barcelona has been featured in several magazines, among them National Geographics, which has included the city in their top ten worldwide destinations.
