DUBLIN

Dublin is the largest city on Ireland and the capital of the Republic of Ireland. The city is situated close to the centre of Ireland's east coast, by the River Liffey estuary and in the middle of County Dublin. Dublin was established as a Viking settlement and has been Ireland's most important city since the Dark Ages. Today, Dublin is Ireland's economic, administrative and cultural capital, and is one of Europe's fastest expanding capitals. In 2003, Dublin was voted the best European city to live in, and Ireland the best European country.
